Hohenbuehelia geogenia (DC. ex Fr.) Sing. syn. Pleurotus geogenius (DC. ex Fr.) Gillet syn. Geopetalum geogenium (DC. ex Fr.) Kühn. & Romagn. Erd-Muschelseitling Pleurote terrestre. Cap 3–16cm across, tongue-, spatula- or funnel-shaped but split down one side, margin incurved at first then wavy and lobed, ochre-buff to hazel brown, with a somewhat gelatinous skin and covered towards the stem with white down. Stem 5–10 x 5–10mm, excentric, whitish, tough. Flesh whitish, tough. Taste and smell mealy. Gills decurrent, white at first, later creamy-yellow. Pleurocystidia thick-walled, lanceolate and apically encrusted. Spore print white. Spores elliptic, 7–7.5 x 3.5–4um. Habitat on stumps or decaying wood of deciduous trees. Season autumn. Rare. Edible. Found In Europe.
